There is a shadow present and it sounds as if it is about to explode. It is the shadow of the son and his body; the son is dead, buried in the sand, waiting for the sun to shine again. There is this muted drumming in the distance. It can be heard as soon as the track begins. It is a drumming that grows louder as the track progresses and eventually it takes over the rest of the track. It is like the summer sun rising slowly, the drumming is a faint shadow that begins to grow bigger. The drumming grows louder and louder and eventually it is the only thing in the track. Song The last track is called “”My Boxer” by the Japanese artist Yuzo Koshiro. It begins quietly, with a sampled piano playing a quiet melody. It is a somber track, as we know the story behind it and it contains a sadness. We first hear the piano as a first bar. It is followed by a repeating sample. The sample begins as a simple hum, but it quickly rises in volume. The piano carries on, repeating the sample and the hum. We hear one more sample, followed by an echo, then the track ends. After the ending of this track we hear a piano playing a repeating melody. This is followed by sampled drum, bass and snare, eventually building in volume. It is a track to remind us of the boy and his death, that he was young, and he was given a shell. He tried to return to the surface and went back. He was given a shell to wear, so he could live. He survived, but the shell broke open and he was buried in the sand. He waited for the sun to shine again and the cycle would begin. The End of the Cycle The cycle continues and it is time for the son to rise again. The piano is heard, so he is still in the sand, but he rises. The piano plays a simple melody, the only difference is the crescendo. It is as if the theme was coming back to life. It gets louder and louder and the the track comes to a close. The End. How It All Begins
